Google Is The Greatest Tool For You To Live A Healthy Lifestyle

Google
It’s difficult to remember the days prior to Google in which people actually had to visit a library to obtain information. But in the digital age, you need not worry about this type of thing, because Google has your back. And if you’re trying to live a healthier lifestyle with less stress in your life, then Google can definitely get you sorted out. Google is much more interested in becoming a global company that just happens to provide search services, than in just multiplying their billions and remaining an information and data hub. Here are the ways that this search engine can improve your overall health and outlook.

Google Fit

Google recently introduced Google Fit, an app which helps track your health by providing you with data related to activities such as jogging, walking and biking. Google Fit is only available for the Android system, and it lets you share your fitness information with others within your network. Google Fit uses sensors to track things such as your height, weight, calories, body fat, calories consumed and heart rate. The fit-band and smartwatch craze is one that Google recognizes as a popular trend that isn’t just a fad, but a way to improve a person’s daily life.

Health Searches

Google lets you input thousands of different health requests related to different ailments. Whether you want to access a site such as WebMD or the Physician’s Desk Reference, Google puts health information into your hands at the click of a key. Google also lets you customize your health questions so that you can look for very specific data. In addition, you can search for the number of calories in thousands of foods (you’ll be shocked at how fattening that Big Mac really is), and determine what the healthiest cereals, breads and dairy products are at the grocery store.

Google Earth

Google Earth is a Google tool that lets you view three-dimensional images of locations throughout the U.S. and the world. Google Earth provides you with the opportunity to find health information about your community, such as where to find fitness centers, where illnesses are most concentrated and the number of hospitals and clinics near where you live. This kind of information makes it easier for you to have the data you need to make better health decisions. For example, you can use Google Earth to determine the nearest organic grocery store in your area.

How To…?

Google is also the one place where you can learn how to do just about anything related to your health. For example, if you want to know how to cook a healthy burger, you can find that out on Google. If you want to know how to trim the fat from a milkshake, Google has you covered. Want to know how to keep broccoli from making you bloated? Just key that in to Google, and you’ll get dozens of different ways to do that. If you’re on a cabbage soup diet, you can use Google to discover how to make a different soup for every day of the week.

Google Knowledge Graph

In February, Google debuted a new algorithm attached to its Knowledge Graph search service. This algorithm allows users to receive health information that has been fact-checked and confirmed by Google’s dedicated team of researchers. Google’s team worked with physicians and other health care experts to ensure that not only will you receive your information high on your search results list, the information will also have been vetted so that you’re confident that you’re learning something vital about whatever health related question you’ve typed into the search box.

Google Smart Contact Lens

In alliance with Novartis, Google is developing a smart contact lens with a microchip that can detect the blood sugar levels of diabetics from fluid on the surface of their eyes. Once the blood sugar is detected, the chip sends the information to a mobile device that lets you monitor your sugar and warns you when that level is too high. This is another example of Google’s interest in using technology to enhance the quality of life of people with and without illnesses.

Digital Diagnosis

Telehealth is one of the hottest trends in healthcare, and Google has already entered the growing field. The company beta-tested Healthcare Helpouts, a video-based service that lets you communicate with a physician about health-related issues. More than just a search tool, Healthcare Helpouts could allow people with little access to quality healthcare, the opportunity to receive medical advice without having to pay exorbitant prices.
