Liverpool sacked Brendan Rodgers after the draw at Everton over the weekend with the club lining up Carlo Ancelotti or Klopp as his replacement.
Ancelotti has however distanced himself from the job after undergoing hip surgery two months ago reiterating his desire to take a one year sabbatical after he was sacked by Real Madrid over the summer.
He told reporters at an award ceremony on Tuesday night: “I enjoy my time now but, of course, I want to come back to manage – to work – because it is my passion,” he said at an event at the National History Museum in London on Tuesday.
“I want to take my time to rest, but next season I am ready.”
Klopp has however told reporters on Monday to ‘wait and see’ if he would sign a deal with Liverpool.
He is believed to have told Anfield chiefs that he would like to bring his former assistants Zeljko Buvac, 54 and Peter Krawietz, 43, as part of his coaching staff.
Klopp has also told club chiefs that he would be changing much during the January transfer window claiming he is satisfied with the club’s playing staff.
The men in charge of first team affiars presently are Brendan Rodgers’ former assistant Sean O’Driscoll, first-team coach Gary McAllister and development coach Pep Lijnders.
Liverpool face Tottenham on October 17 after the international break and have won four of their eleven matches this season.
