Veteran Filmaker To Head AMVCA 2016 Judges Panel

The organizers of Africa Magic Movies Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA 2016) have announced veteran filmmaker, Njoki Muhoho as the head of the panel of judges.

The announcement was made today, October 16, at the East African media stakeholders event for the AMVCA 2016 which was held at the Sarova Stanley Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.
The event had media stakeholders from Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya in attendance.
Reacting to her emergence as the head of the panel, Njoki thanked the organizers of the award and promised that the panel will do a thorough job in ensuring that the best movies from the African continent will be rewarded at the awards.
She charged East African filmmakers to put in their works for the awards  and take their counterparts in West Africa headlong to compete for the categories.
She said: “East Africa should put pressure so that we can use Swahili to export our culture.”
Speaking on the criteria of movies that will be selected for the awards, Njoki said:“Movies that should celebrate African culture that shows who we are.
“Their stories should be unique, creative, genuine, have good technicalities and flows well.”
Njoki Muhoho has a dual career in Management Consultancy and TV/Film Production. She has over 25 years experience in organisation development, human resource management, corporate strategy development and management training. She has worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Director with TACK International and now runs her own consultancy firm, Workingsmart Skills Ltd.
