Goalkeeper, David Obiazor has joined former Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars for the 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The Super Eagles shot stopper featured for Heartland of Owerri in the just concluded NPFL season but he now says he wants a new challenge and environment which the Pyramid City side will afford him in the coming season.
“I will campaign in the colours of former champions, Kano Pillars in the upcoming NPFL season. The contract deal is perfect and I’m quite satisfied with everything tabled before me by the management.
“Heartland could not have been a disappointment as the team actually prepared me for the task ahead. Kano Pillars are different club with different challenge and demand as well as different environment. The demand is certain to be high in the upcoming Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
“They are severally Nigerian champions finishing eighth in the immediate past league season would not gone down well with them.
“Pillars will certainly want to be champions again so I want to be part of the process that will see them on the podium dance once again.
“I need the challenge and demand expected at Kano Pillars in the new season to further my career.
“I’m hopeful to have a successful career and season with the side in the coming season,” said the former El Kanemi Warriors goal tender to supersport.com.
Obiazor spent a season - 2015 - with the Naze Millionaires where he helped the Owerri outfit to finish seventh on 56 points.
