Ighalo turns down Atletico as Watford is forced to release official statement to put off suitors

Nigerian and Watford striker Odion Ighalo has turned down an opportunity  to join La Liga side, Atletico Madrid.
According to The Sun, Diego Simeone's side sent scouts to watch the Nigerian on five occasions this season and were willing to bid £12-million for his services.

“Atletico have watched him five times already this season and are desperate to take him to Madrid. They have practically offered to double his wages, with big bonuses added on.

“He remains their top priority and they have refused to go away even though he has twice told them no," the source explained.

However, the in-form Watford man has responded to Atletico saying: “I want to stay in the Premier League.”

His club have also initiated plans for a pay raise for himself and his strike partner Deeney to see-off potential suitors. Watford FC have since released an official statement on Friday saying Ighalo “is not for sale at any price”.
