Liverpool owners are looking to sell Daniel Sturridge, claims Phil Thompson

Insider: Liverpool owners are looking to sell vital star
Liverpool legend Phil Thompson claims the club’s owners are looking to offload star striker Daniel Sturridge.
The former Chelsea man has made just 60 league appearances for the Reds since moving to Anfield in 2013 and Jurgen Klopp admitted yesterday that he’s little idea when the forward will return from injury.
The 26-year-old has a brilliant scoring record on Merseyside but Klopp will undoubtedly be concerned with the England striker’s inability to stay fit.
And Thompson, who made 340 appearances for the Reds, believes the club’s owners are tempted to cash-in on the injury-prone striker.

‘There’s only so far you can go with Sturridge,’ Thompson told the Mirror.
‘You can’t build a team around him. You can’t even build a forward line around him.
‘It’s hard to envisage going forward with a player like that.
‘I think they [the owners] will be looking at him, how many minutes he played, how old he is, wondering how much they can get for him.’
