Liverpool told to pay €50 million for Shakhtar Donetsk ace Alex Teixeira

Shakhtar Donetsk boss Mircea Lucescu believes Liverpool target Alex Teixeira is worth €50 million (£38m).

lAFKILLZ understands that Liverpool are struggling to meet Shakhtar’s valuation of the 26-year-old attacking midfielder, having already told to increase the £24 million bid they submitted last week.

Liverpool are yet to table a second offer for the Brazil, while Lucescu claims that the club are targeting a signing who could reach the same level as Angel Di Maria.

"He’s worth €50m," the Shakhtar coach told FourFourTwo.

"He’s incredible, very fast, very good technique. I compare him with other players of the same age who changed [the fortunes of] a club, Di Maria for example at Paris Saint Germain.

"Teixeira can be at the same level, better even. He doesn’t get injured, and every year he gets better and better."
