Paper Talk: Costa-Martinez swap talk, Poch’s new deal

Diego Costa: Linked with Atleti
Atletico Madrid want Diego Costa to return and will offer Jackson Martinez, while Mauricio Pochettino is in line for a new Spurs deal.

COSTA-MARTINEZ SWAP DEAL UNLIKELY

Atletico Madrid want Diego Costa to return and are prepared to offer Jackson Martinez in return, according to The Sun.
Atletico boss Diego Simeone is desperate to get Costa back on board the tabloid tells us the deal is “unlikely to happen” because neither player will be eligible to play in Europe.
It’s a story that The Sun have run before. Earlier this month they suggested Martinez, who has not settled into life in Madrid after his summer move from Porto, would be used as a make-weight in the Costa return to the Vincente Calderon.
But as they paper admit, with Monday’s deadline approaching the swap deal is not going to happen.

A Daily Mirror exclusive claims Tottenham are ready to reward manager Mauricio Pochettino with a new deal amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

The 43-year-old is in line for a improved new deal after shaping Tottenham into title contenders and chairman Daniel Levy is keen to make sure Pochettino is not lured away from White Hart Lane.
Poch still has three and a half years on his contract and reportedly earns around £3.5million a year, but that will be significantly increased to ward off potential suitors.
