Chelsea have reportedly earmarked Everton’s John Stones, Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez, and PSG’s Marquinhos for moves this summer.
While the other two have been linked to the Blues recently, Gimenez is a new name. However, the London Evening Standard reveal the Blues actually wanted the defender before the campaign started.
The 21-year-old has been a key part of Diego Simeone’s side this season, making 25 appearances alongside Diego Godin in central defence.
With John Terry and Kurt Zouma currently favoured by Guus Hiddink, a move for the youngster could push Gary Cahill closer to the exit door.
